  • Reagan Vassil Democracy Fellowship 2024 in USA | Fully funded. The Reagan-Fassll Democracy Scholarship 2024 is a fully-funded scholarship offered to activists, journalists, civil society leaders, and scholars from around the world to spend 5 months in residence at the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).
  • The exchange program in Washington, D.C. allows fellows to conduct independent research on global democratic developments and conduct research in a specific country or region.
  • The Reagan-Fassell Fellowship also provides an opportunity for fellows to gain advanced skills and expertise from the International Forum for Democratic Studies, the leading venue for analysis of democratic transitions in the world.
  • The fully funded five-month international scholarship in the United States is offered to practitioners and scholars alike.
  • However, practitioners will learn ways to improve strategies and techniques for building democracy around the world, while scholars will learn techniques for conducting original and exclusive research for their publications.
  • In order to gain all that productive experience, the NDF Democracy Grant Program ensures fellows engage with peers, resources to conduct research and writing, and opportunities to develop professional relationships with a global network of democracy advocates.

Requirements : 

  • Eligible Countries: All nationalities. (United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Djibouti, Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Comoros, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Somalia, Syria, Tunisia, Yemen) .
  • Applicants must be proficient in the English language.
  • The applicant must propose a project focusing on the political, social, economic, legal or cultural aspects of democratic countries.
  • Applicants must ensure they reside in Washington, D.C. during the 5-month grant period.
  • Applicants for the Practitioner Track must meet the following requirements
  • Applicant must be a mid-career professional.
  • The applicant must have practical experience in promoting democracy or human rights in the country or region.
  • Applicants for the Academic Fellows track must meet the following requirements
  • Applicants must have completed a doctoral degree or equivalent academic degree at the time of application.
  • Applicants must have a record of publications in their respective scientific fields.
  • Applicants must develop a detailed plan for the research project they will work on during the grant period.
